

Thank you for considering The Radiation Oncology Center of Olathe for your radiation oncology treatment. We understand this can be a stressful time for you and your loved ones. The following information is to help you get started easier and to access us when needed. We look forward to caring for you.
The Radiation Oncology Center of Olathe provides specialized radiation therapy cancer treatment for patients. We use state of the art technology including image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and 3D planning.
SITE specific information:
SCHEDULING –Once your referral for radiation oncology treatment
has been received by us, a staff representative will contact you to set up
an appointment. Our facility is open from 8:30 to 4:30pm daily, Monday through
Friday.
WHO TO CALL FOR APPOINTMENTS – If you would like to call
our facility to make an appointment, please call our office coordinator at
913-768-7200. If you call after hours, the answering service can take your
name and number so that we can call you back the next day.
WHERE TO GO – Our suite is located in the Doctors Building
attached to the Olathe Medical Center. Parking is available on either side
of the Doctors Building. We are in Suite 180, on the north end of the ground
floor of the building directly attached to the west side of the hospital.
As you drive into the complex, you will note a sign on the outside of the
Doctors Building – “Olathe Regional Oncology Center”; that is our suite.
Handicap parking is available on the NW side of the Doctors Building, and
you can request use of a wheel chair if you come into the main entrance of
the Doctors Building.
Helpful Information and Tips:
PARKING: There are designated parking spaces for Radiation Oncology and Rehab on the East side of our suite, right next to the doctors’ building, with a side entrance. There are handicapped spaces in this area. If you are interested in obtaining a temporary or permanent handicap sign for your vehicle, please let us know, and we will be happy to assist in getting your request approved.
BAD WEATHER DAYS: In the event of inclement weather, please do not hesitate to call our office to discuss your appointment. This missed treatment may simply be added on at the end, just like “snow days” are added on at the end of the school year. Occasionally it may be possible to reschedule a particularly important treatment later in the day. If the roadways are icy, the weather looks dangerous, or your vehicle isn’t running, just call the office to let us know.
COMMUNICATION AFTER-HOURS: If you need to reach the doctor after 4:30 M-F, weekends or holidays, simply call the office number. When you hear the recording begin, you may listen or dial zero right away. Stay on hold and the answering service will help you. There is a physician on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and they will be paged to return your call. Please do not hesitate to call if you have a problem.
IMPORTANT PHONE NUMBERS: During the course of your treatment, questions or concerns may arise. Please do not hesitate to stop and ask or to phone with any needs. Our office telephone number is 913-768-7200. After 4:30 p.m., the answering service will take calls and page the radiation oncologist. If, for any reason you are unable to reach our answering service after hours, please call our administration office number 816-313-2677 and their answering service will contact the doctor for you. If any questions arise about your account, please call our business office at 816-313-2677.
LAB & X-RAY: There may need to be routine tests done during the course of your therapy. Depending on your insurance requirements, you will have these tests done at the Olathe Medical Center’s lab and x-ray departments, independent imaging centers or labs, or at your primary-care doctor’s office. Please check your insurance policy regarding any ‘in network’ requirements.
BILLING & INSURANCE: Our billing office is called Therapeutic Radiologists, Inc., and is located in Kansas City, MO. This office handles our insurance filing and billing issues. Please call 816-313-2677 if you have questions.
COMMUNICATION WITH YOUR OTHER DOCTORS: A detailed report of every consultation, re-evaluation, and course of therapy is documented and sent to all other significant health care providers involved in you care to ensure they are fully informed of your evaluations, therapy, and progress. Please let us know anyone you wish to have copies sent to, or of any change in your medical care provide
